There is a common apprehension that people who maintain a calm, silent and less talkative demeanor have to undergo a rough tide in public. That’s true. People who shy away from talking struggle a lot to initiate a small talk in public. Called as ‘introverts’ - person who tends to shrink from social contacts and to become preoccupied with their own thoughts- also face the difficulty when their profession expects excellence in public speaking, listening etc. Even I believed the same till now.
Characteristics of Introverts
• Prefer spending time alone or with one or two close friends, especially when tired.
• Concentrate best when alone, and often give the impression of being quiet, calm and even mysterious.
• Feel that they gain energy and strength from being alone.
The problem rooted to this disorder is the way they have been raised from their childhood. The parents initially get acknowledged by the neighbors for raising their children to maintain a calm environment rather than making noise and mischievous attempts that makes difficult to control. But before throwing some brownie points over the parents lets try to throw some light over introversion. Lets try to sift some literatures that disproves its societal stature. And with this aspiration, I searched for some videos and this particular one threw me over surprise.
GANDHIIIIII is an INTROVERT.
Actually introversion is not a disorder but a normal trait. There is no need to worry about possessing such behavior and so, the introverts rather than trying to emulate extroverts can try to balance certain qualities.
Suggestions for introvert
1. Develop a positive vision in becoming an extrovert.
2. Find the right social group
3. Build relationships in terms of where you can give than what you can get
4. Develop social skills consciously

1st of all this habit is not a disorder. introverts can never be alone.cn never indulge in rubbish gossips.and ofcourse they are thinkers, good listeners which make them better human being and intelligent person. at some point in time u will feel irritated on a chatter box bt cn never feel the same for an introvert. top of all people around introverts becomes more caring. so no harm in possessing this habit.well said....
ReplyDeleteHey great topic you chose here Karthik! :) Have never come across too many blogs around it. This is so true, many a times whom people confuse to be shy are actually just introverts, and even that by no means is a shortcoming. It is very interesting to go through the video here and the suggestions u've mentioned :)
ReplyDeleteThe video is indeed surprising and what is better is the fact that you decided to bring it to everybody's notice :)
Hope to see many more such blogs in the future from you :)

Hey..cool post...and the video is just apt.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion being an introvert is the preparation phase or a learning phase to exhibit the knowledge...then you become extrovert..
And this change of Introvert to Extrovert and vice versa is the cycle of thought process.
Great work Kathik.
Keep posting more..
hey karthik...
ReplyDeleteThat was such an informative blog esp the video.. we often look at introverts and wonder how can they be so quiet or whats going on in their mind.. Now we know..
Mostly we hear a lot of people saying that quiet people can never be trusted, but I dont think its true. Like the blog says its just a habit. Different people different perspectives and we have to accept everyone the way they are. Thank you for helping us understand introverts :)
